The 12th most populous state and the 35th largest in area is considered to be Virginia, USA. Its name was derived from the virgin queen of England, Queen Elizabeth I. This state is located at the center of the North American plate which makes the ground stable for its population. About 65% of the land area is covered with forests and most of them are protected by the National Park Service.

Forbes Magazine stated that VA is the best state in the US for business, in 2006. By 2007, seven companies in the Fortune 500 are already headquartered in the state’s capital of Richmond. There are a total of 29 Fortune 1000 companies headquartered in different cities in the state.
