How To Make Short Reports To Sell on eBay

By: simmi

There are some methods that can be used to almost guarantee making money from eBay. Creating your own unique short reports and selling them on eBay by following a systematic process is one of them. In this article I will outline a sure-fire strategy to create an eBay income stream by creating and selling short reports.
Step #1
Identify a niche to target
Niche selection is a HUGELY important step in the entire process. Here are some things you should look for in a niche market:
Are there customers already buying similar products? You should always target niches where money is already being spent. This ensures that the market is not afraid of buying online and is willing to invest money in order to find out the information.
Is there demand for a particular product? If there are only 100 people online looking for this information, you’re not going to sell many copies, but if there are tens of thousands and you could just sell to a small percentage of them, they you’re in the money!
Once you’ve identified a problem people are having or a hobby they would like to improve, then you can create a short report around these.
For example, you may have identified a market looking for a solution to cure acne. You could create a short report called “Acne Solutions That REALLY Work”. This is an example of a market looking to cure a problem.
Alternatively, you could target a market that are looking to improve a hobby. For example, you could create a product called “How To Improve Your Golf Swing”.
I outline 14 methods to brainstorm new niche ideas and EXACTLY how to filter out the bad ideas.
Now you can move onto the product creation process.
Step#2
Create a product
Now you have a niche to target, you need to create a product to satisfy the needs of this niche. I’ve identified that there are five methods to create an informational product online, I’ll outline two of them in this article. However the other three, and what I believe to be the best methods.
Write it yourself – You could write the short report yourself. It need only be 7-15 pages and you could probably write this within a day. You will need to research using online and offline methods, such as Google searches and reading books.
Get someone else to write it – Alternatively you could pay a ghostwriter to write a short report for you. This could cost anywhere form $30-$150 or more. The more you pay, the greater the quality of report. Simply find a writer at places like elance.com or scriptlance.com, tell them the details of your short report and get them to do it all for you!
Now, you have a high quality 7-15 page report on a well selected niche. Time to move to the next step.
Step #3
Set up your report for success
Now we need to develop the sales materials that will enable you to sell your short report on eBay. Sales materials include a sales letter, an eCover and an optional header, footer and background. I recommend you pay someone to create these for you
Now you need to write the sales letter to use in your eBay description. Sales letter writing is beyond the scope of this article so do some Google searches for tips and tricks on sales letter writing.
Finally, you need to price your report. I recommend you sell it in the $5-$15 range – depending on demand and competition.
Step #4
Get ready to go!
Now, you have a well written, high quality report in a carefully selected niche and with a ready to go sales page and sales page graphics. All we need to do now is list it on eBay!
Create an attractive auction title to reel in targeted buyers.
Add a subtitle to provide more information and to increase the number of keywords in your auction title and increase your exposure on keyword searches.
Use gallery to display an image of your eCover.
Put your sales copy in the description field.
Consider bolding, highlighting and featuring your auction to increase exposure.
Step #5
Build the back end!
As you start to generate sales you should be maintaining contact with your buyers. You can do this by collecting their names and email addresses into a mailing list. After purchase, encourage (not force) them to join your mailing list. Once they are on there you can market further products and services to them and generate more money from your buyers.
Step #6
Maximise the system
You can make a lot more money with this system if you market your short report online as well
