Park City Utah – The Perfect Place to Relax
Park City Utah is a mountain resort town known for its natural beauty, skiing and snowboarding. It was also home of the 2002 Winter Olympics which helped put Park City on the map as a major ski resort destination. The cool and clean climate, outdoor activities, interesting entertainment events – such as summer time music and jazz concerts -- are just a few things which attract visitors to Park City. In fact, Park City Utah has become real summer destination.
Park City, Utah’s small town, mountain atmosphere allows folks to really enjoy their vacations. As a result, they often decide to purchase their own home or property so they can enjoy Park City year round. Owning a piece of Park City is actually a great investment -- home and condo prices are a significantly less that other ski resort towns and Park City has easy, quick access to Salt Lake City’s international airport. And, Park City is also seeing an increasing number of folks who want to make Park City their year round home. All this is part of the reason why Park City has not seen the dramatic downturn in real estate values so prevalent in other areas of the country.
So, what does Park City offer in the way of summer activities. If you’re a golfer, Park City offers some great golf venues from public (Park City, Soldier Hollow, Wasatch Mountain, Mountain Dell) to private (Park Meadows, Jeremy Ranch, Glenwild, Promontory, Tuhaye, Red Ledges, Homestead) local area courses. Other summer attractions of Park City are mountain biking and hiking, chair lift rides, horseback riding, fishing, outdoor music concerts and mountain bike race. The local ski resorts (Deer Valley, The Canyons, and Park City Mountain Resort) also offer summer adventure camps for the kids. So, Park City can be a truly family vacation destination. Summer is also a great time to come to Park City because the number of tourists is much less than the winter and hotel rates are significantly discounted over the winter ski season. Most locals will actually tell you that they prefer Park City summers because of cool, dry summer days and the lack of crowds.
If you like music festivals, then Park City is great destination with summer music events having been a major summer focus for 25 years. Music festivals started back in 1983 with the Deer Valley Music Festival. In 2008, the Park City Jazz Foundation will hold its annual Park City Jazz Festival in August and will feature both local artists and some of the top celebrities in the World. Deer Valley will host a concert series with venues ranging from classical symphony to country to jazz. The Canyons concert series focuses Rock and Roll. And, Mountain Town Stages sponsors local artist outdoor concerts throughout the summer all over town.
Park City is just flat a fun place to come in the summer. Or, come buy a home and live in paradise year round.
