What kind of birth control do you use? With so many options out there it can sometimes be hard to know which one will work best for you and which will be safe to use. The interests of the lawsuit against the manufacturer of the product revolve around questions like whether or not there was adequate warning to patients about the seriousness of the side effects. What these reports show is that when the manufacturer was testing the products, they did so via oral forms of this contraceptive. However, in reality, this form of birth control releases the hormones via the vaginal walls, not through the mouth. And this is why it is these claims of safeness, and prior testing that are at the heart of the legal actions that will be taken against the company.

However, in the end, no amount of attention or money for compensation can make up for what the Nuvaring has put these women through. But what it can do is help other women when faced with the decision whether to take the risk or not. Because what is important to remember here is that with traditional oral contraceptives, the warnings were that if you were over 35, over weight, or a smoker that you would have an increased chance at experiencing potentially dangerous side effects like blood clots. But with the new third generation drug it does not matter how healthy you are, you will still be at risk.
