Why people think about American eagle gold coins?

By: Zuma

Usually, mention of gold coins makes people think of American eagle gold coins.

First around in 1986, it soon became one of the best coins to invest in. The front of the coin is virtually identical to the $20 Augustus St. Gauden. These were made from 1907-1933 and were christened the 'double-eagle'. They were designed to evoke awe like ancient Greek and Roman coins.

The gold eagles are created by a specialized minting process that begins by feeding burnished blanks into presses that have special dies. It is struck many times so the images appear to float above a mirror-like field.

The American eagle gold coin is the only bullion coin guaranteed by the American government (congressionally authorized) which means that it is even more of a worthwhile investment. They guarantee its gold content, weight, and purity. Gold traders generally prefer the gold eagle to gold bullion bars or other gold coins because of delays or added expenses for assaying.

Different to most bullion gold coins, American eagles are non-reportable, private and preferred by gold investors for complete privacy, safety and security.

It has a reeded edge and is 22 karat (which means 91.67% gold, 3% silver and 5.33% copper.) This is the usual for gold coins because it creates a harder coin that resists marring and scratching. By getting a better understanding of how other people have priced their items, you can also charge the same price, keeping your item competitive, don’t think that you can charge a bit extra and make some more money because most likely buyers will go for other items and not yours. Don’t go onto EBay thinking that you will be able to ask for the full price of your item, or even half the price. If you are selling a used item, you will be lucky to get three quarters of the price you bought it for. Try setting your reserve price, or the lowest bid that you will sell for, at least half of the price you bought the item for. Of course if you are offering a rare or collectible item, you will be able to charge higher price. Also remember that you need to take into account shipping costs. If your item is selling for $70 but shipping will cost the buyer an additional $30, they may be turned down by the fact that the item costs $100.

Have you ever considered opening up your own eBay store? You may have seen people with there own stores and have wondered what the benefits of having an eBay Store. Like any business, opening up a store on eBay needs to be though out and the pros and cons need to be thoroughly considered.

In 2006 the American government created the American eagle uncirculated coin. The gold version was made in one-tenth, one-quarter, one-half and one ounce sizes, along with a complete four-coin set containing one of each size.

In 1999, the US mint at West Point produced a limited number of accidental 1/10 oz and 1/4 oz uncirculated coins. All the other West Point gold American eagles are proofs.
